Third-Generation Family Management

As a toddler, our CEO rode the production lines in his grandparent’s furniture factory inside the dresser drawers. It’s no wonder that Chief Executive Charles Foster gained a passion for the furniture industry and for designing comfortable, well-made furnishings.

Furniture, Like Art, Enriches Lives

His other passion is art, and he’s an acclaimed sculptor with many of his sculptures displayed throughout High Point and other cities. “There are similarities between furniture and art,” says Foster. “Both are driven by creativity and design collaboration, both look to historical and current design trends, and both have the capacity to enrich lives and make you feel uplifted,” he said.

“A furniture collection is almost like a collection of art. That’s our desire for American Woodcrafters furnishings – that they will make you feel uplifted and enrich your home.”

American Woodcrafters CEO Charles Foster is an accomplished sculptor who brings an artist’s eye to designing furniture collections. He’s shown here with one of his tabletop sculptors on a chest in the AWC bedroom line.
