Seeking ‘Fresh & New,’ Retailers Embrace Fall HPMKT Intros

Buyers Applaud Price Decrease + Spring Availability for Beach Comber.

Buyers came into American Woodcrafters’ showroom at HPMKT “looking for fresh and new” products, says Rusty Morris, vice president of sales and marketing. Buyers were so pleased with the AWC assortment that four new groups will be placed in production before the Spring HPMKT, and another well-received group will soon follow. One standout, the 8510 Beach Comber Bedroom + Dining Collection, was so well-received that it’s scheduled to ship in February 2024 and to be on retail floors by the Spring HPMKT! Another market hit was a price decrease of 4% to 6% for warehouse customers, Morris says. “Even with the costs associated with bringing our line into compliance with the anti-tipping requirements, the lower freight and transportation costs allowed us to implement the price decrease on goods shipped out of our warehouse,” he says.

Here’s a look at the top-selling collections from High Point Market.

Also, we have an announcement about a VERY special introduction to the American Woodcrafters family just before HPMKT:

Beach Comber Bedroom & Dining Collection

8510 BEACH COMBER. (Available by Spring 2024) The two-tone Beach Comber Bedroom and Dining Collection combines a relaxed waterfront vibe with fresh designer details, including a nautical tied-rope motif fretwork on the dining chairs and textured wood hardware accented with white hang-up. Weathered White bases and cases of the collection contrast with Driftwood-colored planked tops. Dining selections include a 48-inch round table with a pedestal base, a counter-height dining table and a shutter door buffet. The group offers smaller scale pieces suitable to living spaces such as vacation homes and condos.

Santa Cruz Collection

7200 SANTA CRUZ WHOLE HOME COLLECTION. (Available by Summer 2024) American Woodcrafters has entered the Solid Pine furniture category with Santa Cruz, a whole-home collection combining a rustic wood finish with clean, mid-century modern lines. The authentic wood finish features natural knots and distressing, pairing a vintage surface with modern and simplistic lines for a unique design marriage.

Switchgrass Bedroom Collection

3410 SWITCHGRASS BEDROOM. (Available the First Half of 2024) Breezy and fresh, the new Switchgrass Bedroom Collection has a transitional coastal style. Offered in a painted Dove finish, the mixed-media collection combines Hardwood Solids and Mahogany Veneers with accents of woven and filled rattan with a complementary antique whitewash finish.

Painter's Creek Bedroom Collection

6210 PAINTERS CREEK. (Available First Half of 2024) Classic and soft forms are married to a weathered, tactile gray wire-brushed finish for a relaxed yet upscale transitional design in the Painters Creek Bedroom. Crafted of Mahogany Solids and Veneers, the natural wood grain is revealed on the pieces, and the gray finish is accented by subtle white hangup and natural colorations for an organic character. Design details like scalloped shaping on both beds and the mirror and pronounced moldings on the front of the cases and parting rails between drawers give distinction.

Ambria Bedroom Collection

4600 AMBRIA BEDROOM (Available First Half of 2024) Urban loft meets Casual Modern in the Ambria Bedroom. Featuring a look of meticulous craftsmanship, the dominant design motif of the group are vertical slats on the case fronts and headboard/footboard running from top to bottom. Concrete tops on the cases complement the Parchment dry-brushed finish with subtle rub-through over Mahogany Solids and Veneers.
